Semi Bad Day

I want to stat this post with a statement. I believe tue change for trans rights cannot happen until the current 20 something people take positions in government. My only hope is that my generation does not screw everything up before that happens.

Yesterday morning. I was feeling good. I went with the TMS crowd to Bacon Nation, I was wearing the cute dress shown below. After breakfast, I walk back to the hotel and boarded the elevator, there were three men there ranging from 40 to 60 years in age. Since I was the last on, I am at the front. One guy, whispered(or should I say tried to whisperer) to another, “is that a man”, the other said yes and the first said disgusting. I ignored them and did not give them the time of day. To each their own as long as they leave me alone.

I did not realize but that statement really hurt, I jumped into bed and stayed there for a few hours. I dragged myself out of bed, went to lunch with the tms group around 3pm and went to TMS live at 7.

Around midnight I told some of my group that I needed to go to bed. I went to the elevator once more. I get on followed by 2 20 something guys and 2 20 something girls. One guy said, “ma’am. What floor are you going to?”. I said 5 and he pressed the button and then pressed the button for their floor. One of the ladies did not see me and asked the guy why he pressed 5. The young man pointed at me and told her that this lady is getting off on 5, when the doors open he told me to have a good evening.

I write all this with tears in my eyes because those young people were so respectful compared to the first group. Seeing them conduct themselves in a respectful manner gives me hope. I pray that my generation does not screw this country up so bad that their generation cannot undo the mess we have made.
