Week 14 and doing Great

I have been on the E for three months and one week. I have documented the changes I have noticed so that I won’t go into those items. What I did see, which may be unrelated, are my vitals. Allow me to explain.

I see two doctors, my primary care(more to come) and my gender-affirming doctor. I had talked with the latter about possible weight, BP, and blood sugar changes while on Estrogen. From the limited research I did and many different accounts, it seemed there would be a good chance for the above items to drop. My doctor told me that none of his patients experienced that; he said most had gained weight. He told me that, unfortunately, there is no research on the matter, and the data needed to be taken with a grain of salt. I totally agree.

This past Wednesday, I visited with a new primary care physician. I had seen my previous physician for many years, but I decided to change because of the life changes and the fact that I hated the clinic he had moved to. I wanted to have a woman for my PCP, and the reason, first and foremost, is that I feel I will open up to a woman more. That may be unfair, but that is how I think.

Since I am a new client, they had to do blood work and all those good things. I noticed a couple of exciting items, and I bet the reader will already know what they are.

The first item, I dropped from a previous weight of 232 in August to 228. Not much, but I was surprised.

For the second item, my Blood pressure was 108/60, which is good, but I had been averaging 130/80 for the last few visits with my previous doctor (I am also on BP medications).

Lastly, I had my A1C number checked. The A1C is a number that is your average score over a period of time that shows if you are diabetic. A good score is between 4.5 and 6.1 percent. I was diagnosed years ago with diabetes, and my A1C was 8.6; with a change in diet and exercise, I have lowered that score and do not take medicine anymore. My A1C number this week was 4.6, and my previous score was 5.5.

These past few months, I have been terrible at eating healthily. I have been having fun drinking and eating a bunch of junk food. I mention all this because even with this, my numbers still dropped.

Once again, no true empirical data, but I think medicine has made a difference. I am doing some testing with my BP medicine. I have not had any for three days, and my BP this am was 130/64, which is still very good. I plan to test till I see my BP go up. As far as the other numbers, I am not going to push it, I have started to get back to eating healthier and will cut down on sweets.

This is a fun time and I am looking forward to the future.
