Big Day

I am a couple of days late writing this post. This past Sunday, I administered my seventeenth shot in my left thigh(see previous posts for an explanation). That means I have been on estrogen for four months straight, and some of the more significant changes should happen soon. Below is a timeline of expected changes. Experiences may vary.

In other news, it is official. I have a new legal name. I appeared before a judge on Monday. I thought he would not allow the name change; he kept obsessing over the fact that I did not have paperwork for a gender change. I told the judge that I was not interested in the new gender marker at this time and that I was only there to have a name change. He eventually said that the name change was acceptable but would not allow a gender change. I nodded and thanked him for his time. Later that day, I went to the SS Administration office and applied for a new card with my new name. As an added bonus, they asked me if I wanted to change my gender marker. It seems you no longer need an updated birth certificate at the SSA. I, of course, said to change that gender marker. I am so excited.

I can now use my new name.
