In the tech world, when learning a language or some programming or even setting up a blog, the first item usually outputs or displayed is “Hello world!”. I can not think of a better way to introduce myself. Hello world, my name is Alla. Until recently, I would only let myself be seen through the guise of a video game character. I could show the true me behind a veil of anonymity inside the gaming world, online communities, and the internet.
Let me explain. I am a fifty-three-year-old transgender woman. Deep down, I knew who I was and what gender I was from an early age, but it was not until I turned 50 that I started to accept who I was.
I created this blog to chronicle my transition into the new me. I hope that I can use this site to grow as a person physically, emotionally, and mentally. I plan to document the changes and thoughts I have throughout this process. I have no idea what is ahead of me, but I welcome the challenge, and I hope you, as a reader, can share in my journey.
What this site will not reference much is the old me. My old self has helped shape me through the years, but he is gone. In the trans community, some would refer to his name as a dead name. Even though his name is dead, I will not forget the person he was; I feel he can provide insight into the adventure ahead.
Since the site is new, you may see many placeholders and fake text. Please be patient as I make the site into something beautiful and informative.
