Week 47 and lets Experiment

This past Saturday, I did my 47th injection in my right thigh. For anyone who has been reading these posts, and let’s face it, it is just me, know that my injections are on Sunday. The reason for the change is so that I and my doctor can get a proper reading of my estrogen levels. So, I have had blood drawn four times in the past year, and my results are as follows:

Lab NumberEstrogen LevelTestosterone Level
127715
210120
330013
425517

These numbers probably don’t make sense to most, but my current goal is to suppress my testosterone, which means keeping it under 50 and has a healthy estrogen level, which means keeping it somewhere between 50 and 200(a wide range). Currently, I am taking injections once a week of .20 mg estradiol. This means my E levels are high after the injection, and as the week goes on, the levels taper off.

My first lab happened five days after my injection.

My second lab happened eight days after my injection (I had to wait till after labs to do my injection because it would have skewed the results).

My third lab occurred three days after my injection (We reduced my injection amount from .25mg to .20 MG).

My fourth lab occurred four days after my injection.

I show all this because my doctor and I feel I am on the correct dose, and we want to get an accurate reading, so I told him I would switch my injections to Saturday and then do my labs on a Friday. We think we will find that the next lab will look similar to the second lab, and if you look at the data above, it does seem likely. My next lab won’t happen until March, but I wanted to get on a routine before that.

Unlike old-school doctors, my doctor is willing to talk with me and work through figuring out what is best. I recently left a doctor who would not provide me with any information, and I don’t work that way. There is not such a thing as too much information with me.

Next week, I plan to share information about my consultation for gender-affirming surgery; until then, take care, and have a wonderful week.
