Yesterday, I administered my 49th shot in my right thigh. it is hard to believe that it has been almost a whole year. The 25th of January will mark the one year anniversary of me coming out at work. I have been so fortunate to have the job I have. I have worked for the company for over fifteen years and even though everyone is replaceable, I am not easy to replace . With that said, I believe my position did not influence management but it did not hurt. Since I came out at work, trans awareness has risen greatly and they were already pretty open. I was the first open trans person and since that time two other employees have come out. I hope my experience made it a bit easier for them.
In other news, on the 15th, I met with the surgeon who will perform the Vaginoplasty. We met for half an hour and worked out many details. If everything proceeds as planned I should be able to get the operation in September or October. I received my paperwork from the clinic and I need to provide them with two mental health letters in order to schedule the surgery . Other good news is that when the surgery happens, I will only need to stay approximately 10 days.
This coming week I will have busy days on Tuesday and Wednesday. I will get my first laser treatment for my genitalia area and on Wednesday I meet with a therapist with the hope of getting a letter of recommendation soon.
In other news, I have been attending sessions for people on Estrogen and a group for people who are pre op or have had bottom surgery. The groups have been amazing and I am so glad that\ I am participating, I have learned so much.
Until next time.
